Fran and Phill Lyons are among the growing number of Banjo's franchisees in Victoria. Based in Mornington, on the Mornington Peninsula, their store opened in November 2001. Being located in a seaside tourist area which is easily accessible from Melbourne has given the bakehouse a consistently high customer base. Combined with the Lyons' hard work and use of the proven Banjo's operations systems, this has made for an extremely successful and profitable business.

Becoming bakery franchisees represented a complete career change for the ex-Tasmanian couple and their young children. Their particular sea-change saw Phill leave his position with the Tasmanian Police for the bakery floor, while Fran uses her accounting background to manage the finances of the business and oversee the sales area.

Both acknowledge the importance of support from the Banjo's team in their success. As complete novices in the bakery business, they've been impressed at just how easy it has been to implement the various operational systems. After a few short months, they feel like old hands at the business, ready to take it to even greater heights.
