Our History

Banjo’s started with a simple idea 25 years ago. The idea was to provide a bakery which offered customers the opportunity to sit down and enjoy a leisurely lunch or snack with a perfectly made coffee.


The food needed to be hand crafted, fresh each day and something that provided a comforting experience. Breads had to be made the traditional way, preservative free but tasty and hearty.


The idea became a reality with customers quick to respond to the Banjo’s experience.


Today, Banjo’s has grown to almost 40 stores – the growth has been a natural evolution. Slow enough to ensure we stay true to ourselves and our customers, but large enough to ensure the quality systems and processes are in place to provide a unique and welcoming in-store experience.


The Banjo’s of the future will retain its small town ideals, looking to complete a natural journey from source to plate.
